There is a 6€ price inorder to climb to the top of the cupola by foot(approx 520 steps), or you can take the elevator for 8€ and from the terrace climb another 320 steps. It’s not easy but it is worth it.

Magnificent view, however they allow too many people on the dome at the same time. Impossible to move around.

You pay extra for this 8 o 10 euros and don't go if you don't like heights as its a one way system one stair up and one stair down. The stairs get narrower and narrower and the walk round the outside of the dome...More

It was very difficult, warm and enclosed but worth it when you get to the top...just be prepared! There are spots you can squeeze to the side to catch your breath!

The dome is absolutely stunning (we were lazy and took the lift up, but well worth it). You can walk around and admire the cathedral and the view and even go outside for fantasics views of the city

There is a lift to go up the Cupola, but it takes you up to some level only. What is worth the effort is to go further upstairs. At some point you will see that the corridors are becoming more and more narrow, just for...More

The only views in the world you can compare it with is the top of Eiffel. It is symmetrical and thus spectacular. After all the security check as soon as you get inside the building, on the right hand there’s the entry to the cupola...More

This is well worth the climb. The ticket office is upstairs and to the right. Tickets are 10 euro for the elevator (which you are still required to climb 200 stairs to the top) or 7 euros for stairs only (approximately 300 additional). We took...More

This is definitely worth the climb-- however, you need to know what you're getting yourself into. I went on a 90 degree day and bought the elevator ticket (elevator is 10 euro, stairs is 8 euro) because the heat was unbearable. However, no one tells...More

Sorry I'm so late with the answer. It's open 8 - 6 in summer and 8 - 5 in winter. It certainly would be a spectacular view at night if it were open. Peter Wynd
