I'd like to think that I'm in pretty good shape but this was still a very hard climb to reach the top. Once I was up there though the view requires more words than I can muster to do the city of Rome justice. Even...More

Ok, we took the lift because I was not interested in walking 1 step. Well don’t be fooled!!!!!! I reckon we walked at least 250 steps to get to the top of the dome. OMG.... once I got my breath back the view is spectacular....More

After an amazing private Vatican tour led by Elisa from Eyes of Rome, some of us decided to pay the nominal fee and climb the Cupola. It is a fun climb (though parts are close quarters for those who don't like tight spaces) that affords...More

There is a very beautiful view around Rome city, where we can admire many buildings and monuments. You can also admire inside the Chapel.

Great view of Rome. In addition you can observe more closely the paintings of the Cupola that are simply beautiful. Be prepared for some exercise to go up!

Definitely do this but only if you can make it up the winding and very tight stairs. It is a climb for sure.

Sorry I'm so late with the answer. It's open 8 - 6 in summer and 8 - 5 in winter. It certainly would be a spectacular view at night if it were open. Peter Wynd
