Amazing square, the no1 in Rome. You can visit it after a visit from St. Peter Basilica and Vatican museum or independent by free.

It's St Peters Square. It huge and beautiful worth the visit. Huge columns and wide spaces. The views of the St. Peters main entrance and dome can be seen from here.

The square is an open area with no tickets. Feel free to move around without any charge.

My advice is expect Large crowds, It will be very Crowded , probably very hot, get there as early as possible in other words probably not a good day to visit from a tourist point of view.
