If you let your hair down and get into the spirit it's great fun for anyone at any age. The history & museum bit is interesting. The guides/gladiators are awesome. You will run around, under & over things and get to spar as well. Laughed a lot and got to land a couple of "blows" on hubby

The gladiator school is located outside the center of Rome (buses are available but the road is very busy). Once there, the kids got about an hour lesson about the equipment and weaponry. Then they experienced an hour of training with a "Gladiator". We got to see all the major places in Italy and when asked, all four of my... More

Let me start by saying that we couldn't fault the actual Gladiator School combat experience at all - that was great and just as everyone has described. However, perhaps we just got unlucky, but our trip was split with less than one hour of "Gladiator Training" and an anticipated 1hr+ being guided around a small museum on site (we left... More

Gladiator school was my 10 year old son's Christmas gift this year. He had been excited about it ever since we booked our vacation 4 months prior and the experience ended up being everything he had hoped for and more. The school was a 20 minute Uber ride from our hotel near the Vatican. We were greeted at the gate... More

Even our 18 year old had fun! There were students from "4 to 45", and every one of them enjoyed their time. The instructor has a great way with students, blending humor, encouragement and challenge while keeping things moving. One of our boys who has been a martial arts instructor for a number of years found the combat technique quite... More

"Awesome" is a much-overused word that still does not even begin to describe this experience. This was one of the top things that I had been looking forward to on my trip. The downside of that is that often, when you look forward to something long enough, reality can't meet your expectations. That did not happen here. It was in... More

We booked this trip as a bit of fun, my husband, me and our 2 sons.... who are 26 and 23!!! I think they guy's face fell a little when he saw their age as I don't think we fit the usual family ID. We absolutely loved it. Great history lesson in their mini museum. We knew what to expect... More

We thoroughly enjoyed spending a couple of hours with our kids at this school (age 9 and 11). Our wonderful teacher Jiacomo was entertaining and enthusiastic for the whole 2 hours, got us really involved and taught us a lot about gladiators. Top tip is bring insect repellent...we were eaten alive!

I recently took my 8 yr old son to Gladiator School, and although he was a lone student, he still had a blast. They have an impressive display of paraphernalia, which he enjoyed trying on. His instructor was fun and engaging, and he learned a lot about both Roman soldiers and gladiators. I wish I had known ahead of time... More

We went so the kids could be gladiators for a day. Our trainer Emanuele was an enormous man who teaches 7 different types of martial arts. He knew his history about the gladiators and the first hour was learning about gladiators, but it was so intriguing and interactive that we were all engaged the whole time. Emanuele is really a...
