Visiting or leaving in Rome, you have to visit the Basilica Di Santa Prassede. What a lovely church you will be surprised with the beauty of this church from the inside. Wish I could stay more than 1 hour inside..

This 11-12 century church, is small but filled with important pieces. First, the mosaic in the apse., with Christ in Majesty. The figures are almost life size. The south side of the church has a tiny chapel for Saint Zeno. The mosaic is incredible, small and full of gold leaf. Overhead the 4 squinches are the 4 evangelists representatives. Aside... More

A short walk from Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Prassede is full of mosaics from the 9th century - and they are spectacular. The church is open in the morning and late afternoon. This church - in a city of churches - is very special. Not to be missed, if you can.

We would never have visited this lovely church if not for our food tour guide. The mosaics are simply beautiful and so detailed. If you are lucky enough to have someone who explains the history of the church it will be much more memorable. If in the area, be sure to search it out.

This church is a little gem, close bye the more well known to tourists Santa Maria Maggiore. If you are going to see the better know church, do not miss this one also, just 2-3 blocks away.

Most people will never find this incredible jewel of a church. The mosaics are beautiful, the somber tone refreshing and the pillar that Christ was whipped on is here. The staff are helpful, and the church is lesser known, yet perfect.

Church of Saint Prassede is a small, intimate church, located near the papal Church of Saint Maria Maggiore. There are not many tourists , a few people know of its existence. This historical place is a house of the relics of the column which, according to legend, was bound and flogged Jesus Chist. It is a place full of history.... More

It's a tiny little church filled with gorgeous mosaics from the Middle Ages. It's located just one block from Santa Maria Maggiore and I think this is a must-see, don't miss it!
