Rome is laced with one beautiful church after another. Unfair to call one better than the other... Each with it's own distinct stamp. Definitely worth a visit

This is a beautiful old church in a very cute piazza which comes alive in the evening. The art work on the top of the outside is stunning as too is the inside. Take some time to sit by the fountain and just marvel at...More

I wish I had something more interesting to say about it. But so close to st. Peter cathedral all other churches look a bit dull

Truely amazing ceiling and the paintings behind the alter are stunning. This church is well worth a visit. The piazza is very attractive and the area has a very nice feel. Avoid going to Sabitini’s directly opposite, as that is place a shocking rip off.

Beautiful church in Trastevere and one of the oldest churches in Rome. Inside you will find some mosaics from the 12th and 13th century. Like in many other churches, they do want you to have your shoulders and knees covered. After visiting the church, enjoy...More

There is so much to see in Rome but the Santa Maria should not be missed! We enjoyed our visit to this beautiful church and took many pictures. We would recommend it to travelers as a must see.

This beautiful church is in a less touristy part of Rome. Despite not being on the must-see list of most tourists, it is an excellent pilgrimage site for reverent prayer.

Having visited the Sistine chapel and the Vatican we are staying in Trastevere and found this Basilica in walking distance of our apt. Among the bars and restaurants and throngs of people lies this gorgeous Church that rivals its larger counterparts. It is so beautiful....More

This church was pointed out to us by both a local guide and our apartment staff as a place to visit. The gold leaf in the roof and on the mosaics is truly outstanding. Well worth a visit to a place just a little out...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
