Italian Methodist Church
Oct 2018 • Family
This building was originally owned by the Friars of St. Celsus but is now the Italian Methodist Church. It is sited in a nice location right in front of Ponte Sant'Angelo. Masses are conducted in English. Operas and concerts are also held here regularly.

worth visiting

Very beautiful and majestic castle. Be sure to visit. There is no need to go inside (if you don't have time, or don't want to spend to much time in it) you can just walk and enjoy the castle and its beauty from the outside.

My church family in Rome

Very welcoming English speaking Methodist Church. Hymn singing a bit dreary but a good Bible based church.

Linked to the Methodist Church of Britain & the Italian Methodist Church.

You need to look carefully for it as the entrance doesn't seem like a church.

Opera in the church
Jun 2015
The church is very small and with wonderful acoustics and on the Sunday evening of our trip we went to an opera concert. We were very impressed. E tickets can be booked in advance with CLASSICTIC.COM. The church is opposite the Ponte Sant'Angelo and walking across the bridge leads you to the Castel Sant Angelo and from there it is a short walk to the Vatican

Wonderful concert of Fabiana Biasini (I concerti dell'Angelo)
May 2015 • Couples
The church, located right across the street from Ponte di Sant'Angelo bridge (hence the name) was originally owned by the Friars of St. Celsus. In 1877 it was bought by the 'Italian Free Church'; the man behind was Alessandro Gavazzi (1809-1889), a liberal preacher of Protestant persuasion, a patriot and an army chaplain with Giuseppe Garibaldi. It was thereafter consecrated as a protestant place of worship on the same year.
In our days, the church is a home to Ponte Sant’ Angelo (PSA) Methodist Church, to serve an English speaking congregation of the city.
We were lucky to attend the concert from the series 'I Concerti dell'Angelo' that the church houses regularly. On May 2, 2015, the concert was Fabiana Biasini piano recital; the repertoire included Rossini, Liszt and Scarlatti. Great performance, the pianist, Ms Biasini, commanded very good English, provided necessary explanations and did a great job overall.
The church is on a smallish side, but the premises were adequate for the purpose.
We obtained our very affordable tickets in advance, through classictic.com.
Recommended.

Very small English speaking Methodist Church at the corner of Ponte Sant'Angelo on the Lungotevere. Very warm and welcoming community. Worship service every Sunday at 10:30 am.

Blessed are those who have no seen, but believe!
Apr 2013 • Couples
This church is directly across the bridge from Ponte Sant'Angelo Castle. Unlike large Catholic churches, the entrance is humble and we took a while to find the church after walking around in circles.

We were visiting on April 7 2013, and heard the most amazing sermon by Reverend Kenneth G Howcroft. Till today, I can picture the church and the sermon on Doubting Thomas. The church has a small international congregation and friendly.

It prides itself as the nearest friendly protestant church outside the Vatican Walls and it is rightly so! Highly recommend this to visitors who do not forget to worship God ....on their vacation!
