Many things to see

There are a lot to see in the area - from the arhitecture to the fountains, basilicas, ruins and piazzas, Rome is an open-air museum. The most beautiful city we had seen.

Central Rome is the heart of Rome. It is the treasure of Roman & Catholic History. Lots of places to visit and things to do in this region.

One of my favourite places. The centre of Rome is a treasure trove of history from Roman times, the renaissance and until more recent times. From the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain the Spanish steps, piazzas and historic churches it is amazing to be able to see and visit such history. It is very easy to walk around the... What is really the historic center of Rome? I think the real heart of Rome is found just north of Piazza Venezia. It is a large triangle that extends into the Tiber. The historic center is where you will find Rome’s main attractions. You can walk to most everything here. Such sights include Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Campo di’ Fiore, Spanish... More

Easy to find, lots to see and do. Loads of history and magnificence round each corner, definitely not boring, just fascinating!! A sunny day helps too!!! The Piazza Navona is a case in point great central fountain depicting four major rivers, yet based on a 1st century Stadium of Domitian.Stunning.

I came to Rome with very high expectations. The city seems very organized, with very well preserved buildings. History all the corners of the city. The only recommendation I can leave you is to buy a nice city map. Some streets without name and no clear signs/maps to tourists.

No pictures can prepare you for just how big this place is! From almost anywhere in central Rome you can see it and its hugely impressive! The views from the top are absolutely amazing and 100% worth the hassle of dragging up a slightly hungover girlfriend!

The heart of the Eternal City, most of the famous attractions are in or close to the Centro Storico. In two days we walked between all the main attractions and saw some amazing sights. We visited in February so it was cooler and less busy than I imagine it is during warmer months. A memorably stunning place.

I admit that before going to Rome, I wasn't sure how much I would like it. Mostly because I thought it would be insanely crowded. We went in October, and while there was still a lot of people around, it never seemed crazy. There are people walking everywhere, plus cars, bicycles, and motorcycles, but it all seems to work. You... More

Staying in Trevi

Neighbourhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
