Great view of the entire forum romanum. In my opinion, it is worth going there after visiting everything up close. It makes an incredible impression.

Nice walk on Palatine
Sep 2021
Actually not a must see when in Rome. It's just an addition to the Forum Romanum. Book the extended itenerary if you wanna visit some things on site, otherwise it's just the walk. Nevertheless, on top of the Palatino you have a great view on the Forum Romanum and Colosseum.

When you finish with the Colosseum head on over to Palatine Hill. Make sure that he wear comfortable clothes and shoes he will be doing a lot of walking while touring Rome. Make sure your phone is charged and that way you can take plenty of pictures of all the sites that you will see.

Well Worth a Visit
Sep 2021
We actually enjoyed our visit to Palatine Hill more than that of the Colosseum. So much history and such beautiful views.

Losts to see...
Aug 2021
So much history... Lots to explore... Avoid it in August as it is the hottest month in Rome and the sun and humidity will ruin your visit. Purchase the Full Experience ticket to gain access to all the exhibits here. Sun screen, a hat and good walking shoes are your friends here.

Very nice park. Quiet and relaxing. Better than Roman Forum at the bottom. Routing of toilets could be better.

Superb views from the hill across the Forum below and some lovely gardens on the way up there. Our guide Sarah was outstanding as I stated under my City Wonders review.

THE HILL
Nov 2020
Very large site especially if you have already visited the Colosseum first. I would advise anyone to visit this place first in the morning when the crowds are low and then visit the Colosseum in the afternoon.

Testament to Rome's history
Sep 2020
This fantastic part of Rome is one of the oldest in the city and was purported to be where Remus and Romulus (the founders of ancient Rome) were nurtured by the wolf as children. People have lived on this hill since then, with archaeological remains dating back to the 10th century BCE, particularly the affluent. There was also an Imperial palace here, housing many of Rome's nobility. There's a LOT to see here, so wear comfortable shoes, but you won't regret your sore feet, as you'll be too invested in trying to see as much as possible. It's truly an awe-inspiring visit. Try coming here earlier in the morning or later in the day to avoid the crush of people.
