Neighbourhood: Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.

Very crowded unless you go early in the day. Suggest early morning. At noon or thereafter it is very crowded.

It had been 10 years since I visited the beautiful historical city of Rome, and boy did I miss the beauty of the Trevi Fountain! I'll just let my photos do the talking...

The Trevi fountain really is beautiful! It's also very busy at all times, unless you arrive very early or very late. Nonetheless, this really is a must-see

This is truly a “don’t miss” when in Rome. The fountain is really spectacular and if you don’t go in the middle of the day when all the tours are walking through it isn’t too crowded. Even when it is, though, people are generally polite - they take their photos then step away so you can move in to take yours. Just ignore the guys hawking cheap crap in the area - I found that if I just shake my head and keep walking they don’t hassle you. Pictures don’t do this justice, in person it’s really breathtaking.

Still as gorgeous as when we were there 20 years ago. But this time, the fountain was fenced off, you couldn't walk down the steps to get beside the edge. I suppose it's because of the crowds (8pm, still had to queue to take pictures). Slightly disappointing.

This is one of the final destinations I went with my mother in Rome, and it was by far one of the highlights. Words can't do justice to this fountain. The architecture is gorgeous, with detail you could spend all day just looking at and taking in along with other travelers. Speaking of other travelers - as other reviewers have noted - this attraction is crowded. VERY crowded. In the summer, visitors swarm this area, and it can be hard getting in front to get a good picture or just to look at the structure. However, be patient! Yes, it is worth it! Getting there earlier in the mornings can help to alleviate crowds somewhat. Just don't let the amount of people dissuade you from seeing this gem.

Beautiful fountain but unfortunately way overcrowded, even in early morning (10 AM). There are so many people around that the charm of the fountain is lost and there are a lot of annoying sellers in the area.

Beautiful Fountain! Worth a visit and lots of places nearby to sit and eat/drink.
There will be many people here at all hours, but try to arrive early for the best experience. Large tourist groups congregate here also making it a little difficult to get a good view/photo. :)

This big fountain occupies the entire front of a building. The scene rappresented by the statues and fake rocks is really beautiful and well done and the water comes constantly out from an ancient Roman Aqueduct. It's one of the most famous monuments of the city and a visit is deserved, even if it's always full of tourists
