Too many tourists. You only get to see a glimpse of the fountain itself. Also lots of scammers and pickpockets in the area. It is such a shame as the fountain is obviously gorgeus.

So glad we took the time to find this place and took the time to walk around this part of the city. Words will never do this place justice you must see it to experience its beauty

The fountain itself was stunning; the water was so blue and the location is very central. My only criticisms were the level of crowds and the security who kept blowing their whistles for the tiniest reasons: facing the fountain while eating, standing on certain stones...More

This fountain is spectacular. The detail and the size are just astounding. It is tucked in a small corner of the city. The downside: everyone knows about it. There are a ton of people that tend to be pretty pushy!

Very, very busy but beautiful and worth visiting. We went late afternoon but it was absolutely packed. We did however manage to get down to the edge to throw a coin in.

The Trevi fountain is a spectacular visit. In the day time, with the blue sky as a backdrop, it looks so beautiful. In the night with the lights illuminating, its an amazing sight as well. A must do!!!!

Second visit to this fantastic site. Whilst it is impressive and a must when in Rome, the crowds were truly overbearing.

Heard family talking about it for months and was very unimpressed when I got there. The stones on which the fountain is built are beautiful but the fountain itself didn't seem that impressive to me. It is maybe the massive crowds of selfie taking tourists...More

Wow. The Trevi Fountain was very impressive and beautiful to see. The structure has a beauty all of its own. The intricacies of the craftsmanship so long ago seems almost beyond comprehension. Not to be missed if visiting Rome.

A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is
all about action. From early morning through the wee
hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a
never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or
take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming
gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of
hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle
are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you

The fountains in Rome run continuous. January is off season there so it would be a less crowded time to experience Rome.

It's on a public street so accessible 24 hours. I don't know if the fountain is turned off in the night but it's on late at night and early morning as well as throughout the day.
