I didn't know what to expect from the Trevi Fountain. I was quite bemused upon arrival. We walked from. The colosseum to the fountain and having seen some grand piazza squares I guess I was expecting the Trevi fountain to be in a similar area! When we arrived at the smallest square with this massive over powering beautiful piece of... More

Despite being PACKED with tourists I was able to get around with ease and stand anywhere around the fountain I wanted. This was one of my favorite sights during my trip to Rome and went several times at various times of the day and it never disappointed! The only thing about it that bothered me were the SWARMS of guys... More

The fountain is beautiful, but it was so crowded that I couldn't get close enough to throw a coin in. I recommend going at night so you can truly enjoy the beauty of the Trevi.

The last time we visited the Trevi, it was under rennovation and I was very disappointed to miss such a great site. This time, we saw it in all of its splendor. The marble had been scrubbed clean, the water a beautiful blue. It was truly amazing to look upon such a beautiful piece of work. The crowds are insane.

Another must see for when you are in Rome. It is incredible to see this magnificent work of art. With all of the history behind it.

Beautiufl place to visit. I would recommend a visit in the day and again in the evening. As with all tourist landmarks the only annoying thing is people trying to sell you selfie sticks and other things.

Would be a shame to miss this-although my husband doesn't generally love very touristy places, even he couldn't resist throwing a coin in to ensure his return. Packed, even in February, but an impressive sight nonetheless.

Staying in Trevi

Neighbourhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
