From the moment our reservation was made by friends, I was hoping that this experience would be all that it was promised to be. Not only was it over the top, but a TRULY magical experience from start to finish. All of our drivers were amazing. Tour guides were BEYOND knowledgeable. By the end of day one, we felt like... We used Access Italy for all our tours in Rome and they were wonderful to work with! Stephanie took us on a private tour of the Vatican (which is a must!) and she shared so much knowledge-it was a perfect tour! We had Marcello take us to Tuscany on a private day tour and he was attentive to our every... More

I make no hesistant claim in saying that Simone, Marco and Angelo are the three best men to check out Italy with. Angelo knows everyone and everywhere to go. He is the Godfather of Rome except he is on the opposite end in the kindness department than De Niro. Which is to say he is one of the best humans... More

We had a wonderful time touring Rome and the Vatican with Angelo. His enthusiasm for "my city" and his warmth and charm made him a perfect tour guide. We also did pizza school, which was both fun and delicious.

Made our trip! The tour guides were fun and made the tours very interesting for our family. The customer service was impeccable and we entered exclusive sites in Rome and Venice that were not opened to everyone. The cars were new and the drivers very polite and punctual. Can't wait to be back!!

The most visited site in the world for a reason. Gate 1 travel guide, Simone, was fantastic and very knowledgable. I can't imagine how crowded it is in high season. Definite "don't miss", regardless of wait time

Angelo is the type of person you could sit down with for hours because of his warm personality, incredible stories, unparalleled knowledge, and solid care. I consider him a part of my family. He was respectful to us throughout our tour with him even giving us space because of rough jet lag. Even if Angelo didn't have his connections, he's... More

Big thanks to Access Italy (part of Access Europe). This is a fantastic organization. I was skeptical in using a custom itinerary company in Italy versus planning myself, because we had been before and I thought I could pull it together myself. However, these folks provided the very best experience for my group of 8 people - spanning in age... More

My husband and I went on a 10-day Rome-Florence-Venice with Gate 1 Travel in this month and had an amazing time! All of the hotels were centrally located and very nice. Overall had a very pleasant experience and plan to utilize them to plan our next trip. Really cannot recommend them enough!

My husband and I returned last week from a 9 day trip to Venice, Florence and Rome through Gate 1. The price (and Italy) and the train travel between cities are what attracted us to book this trip. It was a great trip. We chose independent travel so that we would have our own time to visit the sites we... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
