The National Museum is split between the Palazo Corsini and the Palazzo Barberini - there is no indication, which museum space houses the seminal pieces that you want to see, and nor are the museums close together so you can't do one, and then quickly nip...More

The museum is beautiful, small and hosts a nice collection of paintings, but I remember several flaws: part of the guides were in itallian, the staff didn't know english (at least the ones we talked to), the museum entrance wasn't clearly marked (we missed it...More

This caught my husband's eye in our guidebook and I went along for the ride. IMO, the building itself was more interesting than the artwork. There wasn't a single English guide to the works of art and the woman at the front desk (who is...More

Not a must see or even a have to see, but it is open Mondays, unlike most other galleries in Rome and it is another beautiful palazzo. It has Rubens, Caravaggios and Van Dyke, some. Good sculpture and wonderfully decorated rooms. It was the home...More

Not a must see. Nice enough, but not as good as Barberini and the lighting was problematic. The light coming in the windows causes glare, making it hard to see the paintings. Unless there are paintings here that are of particular interest to you, I...More

Part of a 2 Palazzo deal to visit the art treasures of Italy. The palace i phenomenally decorative with amazing marble stairs, floors, walls and columns. The walls are laden with treasured paintings and the Frescoes are breath taking. The exterior does not match the...More

Yes, it IS across the street from Villa Farnesina and you’ve just had a great experience and think, “why not”. At 12 Euros a person you have some expectation that it is well run, thoughtfully presented and has helpful information like the name of the...More

This gallery is nestled in the historic Palazzo Corsini, a beautiful building on the edge of Trastevere. It holds an eclectic collection, the prize piece being a Caravaggio depicting John the Baptist. Not as interesting as the John in the Wild sequence but worth seeing....More

We had the dual ticket with Palazzo Barbarino, this makes it a bargain. The ticket is valid for 3 days so pretty easy to plot a visit while visiting Tratavere churches. there are a couple of Caravaggios, and lots of Baroque paintings, including those by...More

Solid palace, well built and maintained, a delight to visit it inside. Unfortunately a single floor is open, we liked the exhibits and regret the shortness of the visit. Near Trastevere, the rest of the day was focused there..

Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
