When In Rome Tours is a collective of like-minded tourism industry professionals, comprising company directors, two business managers, several admins, and dedicated support staff. Our Rome tour guides are fully licensed and have been leading Rome walks for many years in both English and native Spanish. Instead of working for a corporate tours provider on a commission basis, we have worked our way up over the years to become Rome's leading independently established tour operator. There are no middlemen, book a Rome or Vatican walking tour with us and you will tour WITH US. In this way, you get value for money with no extra costs at any stage. Our guides are experts in their chosen field, be they art historians or archaeologists. Our primary aim is to deliver education about Rome and the Vatican in an enjoyable way, so we take great care to ensure that our guides are as personable as they are professional. Small group tours of Rome work well for everyone and they are our focus. If, however, you wish to book a fully private and exclusive tour, we have many private Rome tour options for you to consider. As a fully licensed tour agency in Rome, we have to bear considerable operating costs as anyone working in Italy will tell you, so we are very proud to announce that our prices continue to be as competitive today as they always have been. In order to be fully transparent, tour costs on our website include all tickets and all local taxes - there is never anything else to pay over and above the prices we publish online. One of our many guarantees is "skip the Vatican line". The same also applies to our ancient Rome tours - "skip the Coliseum line". You will always enter venues in Rome before everyone else on a Rome or Vatican tour with When In Rome Tours. Our reputation in Rome is second to none, and we are sent recommendations every day. When In Rome Tours strives to offer the best possible tours of Rome and the Vatican, and we will continue to pursue even higher service standards in future.

We took the Vatican + Catacomb heritage Rome tour with skip the line and booked it though TA here. Let me be clear. You are not skipping any line and the "non-partner" group line is longer than the regular ticket line by FAR. We decided...More

We had a wonderful time, all things considered. While the tour was incredibly information-dense and profoundly educational, be prepared for the intensity of the crowds, especially working your way in the Sistine Chapel. Cristina managed to mitigate the worst part of the wait by getting...More

My wife and I aren't big on taking guided/organized tours because we hate feeling like cattle being led around. This is different. First of all - trying to buy your own tickets and show up outside of the Vatican would be a nightmare. We saw...More

Our tour guide Luigi was fantastic and made the visit so much more interesting! We don't usually do tours, preferring to do our own research. But this was great and made me wish we had booked a tour for some of the other historic sites....More

Our tour guide, Christina, was fantastic! Although the tour was long, we had a great time learning a lot of history of the Vatican and seeing how it and the pope have evolved in our current world. For the first 40 minutes, Christina explained the...More

We are not big on paid excursions. We are "rent a car, do some research, and go-it-on-our-own" kinda people. That being said, this tour was money well spent. Not only because you literally skip hours of time waiting in line, but mostly because of the...More

Planning a trip with my brother this spring or fall, preferably this spring. We only speak English. We wish to see the Vatican and Coliseum and are looking into what else. We are not early risers . We are now looking for deals to Italy and where we will stay along with tours done in english. May purchase a package but am looking for alternatives. Our father was born in lupine and we will want to go to Tuscany to see his home town and old home and also Florence. Any ideas, product info that you may have for this type of a trip would be appreciated. Packing tips would be great as I have heard that may of the hotels do not have washers and dryers.
