This house was the property of wealthy fisherman. He showed his wealth and pride in several explicit paintings that made the house famous. Worth a detour.

Yet more reviews of Pompeii and it's ruins. If you go to Pompeii, this is literally all you can do. Best read up on your Roman history before you visit.

The house is frozen in time when the residents lost their village and lives in the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. The town is forever kept frozen in time. The ruined building are a glimpse into their lives.

You really should visit this house if you are in Pompeii. The wall friezes are so well preserved and are amazing to see.

It was like eavesdropping on another time when life was so different and going to your bedroom was just to sleep because it only had a bed. Hard to believe this was how the rich lived

One of the highlights of my trip to Pompeii, this house has an amazing garden and wonderful mosaics. It clearly shows you how the elite lived in ancient Pompeii. This really is a must-see when you visit the scavi di Pompeii, and it's only a...More
