Coming from Edinburgh with some amazing underground places and tours, we have been to other cities that have offered underground tours and been underwhelmed. We were not underwhelmed with Naples underground! What an amazing and fascinating place. We had an excellent guide who told us...More

Great tour harking back to both Roman and WW2 eras. Fun walking through narrow tunnels in dim light and educational too. Great to also go to another site after the main tour to see the site of the Roman ampitheatre thst would have exisited there....More

We had a guided tour in English of the caverns and chambers cut into the rock under Naples. There was a lively explanation of what we were looking at. The tour took in all the stages of Naples' history: from the Greeks to WW2. It...More

You go down into the old water cistern of Naples. There were wells above this cistern from where people could fetch their fresh water. It is huge and beautiful although you do get the optional part where you squeeze through the narrow passages. Also interesting...More

Fascinating tour with knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Lasts about one and a half hours in total. Not for the claustrophobic as some passageways are very, very narrow and you are given a candle to squeeze through them to reveal the highlight of the tour. There...More

Naples underground, the tour was great. Seeing the history underground made us appreciate the ancient time course of the city, it's longstanding sophistication, their ability to bring water into households at a time that it was unheard of any place else, and the more recent...More

There are two attractions with this name - opposite each other, same price and same tour times, but one - starts in a church - is really boring half hour tour of the buried Roman market....make sure you don't do the church one!

Deep down Napoli Sotteranea keeps the bar of fun and culture quite high. Our guide Silvia was no less than brilliantly perfect. The site itself definitely triggers and satisfies at different levels your lust for knowledge and safe sense of adventure.

Narrow passages underground, caves with water, old wells, lots of history. Really enjoyed this tour, amazing to be inside history. If claustrophobic, don't go though, as some tunnels are really narrow, dark and long (but optional on the tour). A highlight of our holiday. You...More
