Lovely stroll and views
Nov 2019 • Couples
We got the fornicular up here, this area is very different to downtown Naples. It has an air of sophistication about it. It’s a really clean neighbourhood with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops. Once you are here you should also check out the old castle. You will need to buy tickets upon entry and there are great views!

Breath of fresh air and what a panorama
Sep 2019 • Couples
After the chaotic hustle and bustle of Naples, this is a haven. Take the funicular to montesanto.walk towards, the castle and take in the incredible panorama of the city with Vesuvius in the background.

Visit Vomero Piazza and Castel St Elmo
Aug 2019
Clean Central Piazza area with streets with 'well known' shops in this area and lovely cafes and places to buy great pizza and gelato.
Easy to reach by the Funicolare from Montesanto and good way to while away a few hours even if just people watching from a sidewalk bar. A nice change from other areas just for a breather. Shops and restaurants are open till very late and in August (when we were there) families and their dogs sit in the pedestrian mall chatting and enjoying the summer weather.
Also visit Castel Sant'Elmo for 360 degrees views of the Bay of Naples and across to Capri closes at 5pm though.

What a change from the frenzied Napoli below
May 2019
Scenic beauty and a healthy climate, boasted itinerariesa in the olden days. Yes, urban blight reaches everywhere, except at the top of the hill where the monument and its splendid baroque church is located adjoining the fine museum and elegant residences. Take one of the funicular railways up the hill to enjoy the views. The heart of Vomero reveals an eclectic range of shops and eateries, our favourite, the caffe Scarlatti in Via Scarlatti, offering brilliant coffee and delectable cakes

Safe tranquil beauty a quick hop from everything
Aug 2019 • Couples
You must stay in Vomero! The neighborhood is so safe and quiet! I didn't know that was possible in a bustling city like Naples! There's a ton of restaurants, gelato, a 24 hr supermarket! The best pizza at Pizzeria Sandropizzettats and the best gelato at Casa Infanti! A quick funicular ride take you to downtown our you can walk the stairs if you want to work off the pizza! Arranged driver cost us 25 euros from Napoli ferry port and 20 from airport. There's some amazing Airbnb's at a steal of a price! I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else! It's the best of both worlds!

Great Views

A great place to visit, when visiting Naples. Well worth the trip up there. 360’ stunning views, including Capri, the city and Vesuvius. We walked back down to the sea, lovely to see different parts of local life.

A great week in Vomero
Jun 2019 • Couples
We stayed in Vomero for a week on our travels thru Italy. It is way less frenetic than Centro all though “shabby chic” still rules and parking is well … problematic we really enjoyed it. Plenty to see, do, eat, and drink. Fantastic views of Naples from Castel Sant’Elmo, Museo S Martino and Museo Duca di Martina and our apartment just by the way. It is well serviced by funiculars at several points and also a metro line. There are two Petraio (original steps and paths) to take you up or down as well. No problem getting to and from any part of Naples from there. A wonderful oasis amongst Napoli’s full throttle intensity.
