We spent 5 nights at the Palazzo Albergo Decumani and adored being in the 'thick of things". Never tired of the area......w/ it's historic sites.......restaurants.......and treasures for purchase.

One of the "must dos" in Naples. Interesting just to appreciate the local architecture and has a certain buzz with all the small shops, cafes etc.

I saw a Rick Steves show on Naples, and he was raving about how this was so authentic. We must have walked up and down this street four times, and it just looked like a semi-crowded street where you had to dodge a car or...More

Spaccanapoli is always full of people, especially tourists, restaurants, souvenir shops and churches. The only negative is that it is, unfortunately, not so clean at some places.

Spaccanapoli is the street that divides Naples in one direction (eventually crossing over Via Toledo, the other main street). If you're coming to Napoli then you don't mind crowds and old cobble stone streets. Spaccanapoli is mostly pedestrian, but hey it's Naples so there are...More

I absolutely love this area. Whenever we have visitors to stay I always take them here. Full of history and surprises. It is never the same twice.

We walked this area to escape the traffic and found it fascinating. The street food here is better and cheaper than anywhere else I found including the best pizza frite we've had in Naples.

We were there rather late, several evenings, and many shops were still open. Different shops close at different times, but restaurants, bars, dessert bakeries, etc. were open late. Hope this helps.
