These Aqueducts are parts of the city's history. They are huge, big edifices but they are not something that you HAVE TO see, because they are in the middle of the city and if you just walk around you will find them. I would be...More

While Strolling around in Duomo, saw the masterpiece of architecture lost among the modern surroundings amongst the apartment buildings filled with graffiti, still don't understand the need to deface a building. A shame actually. I would arrange a special outing to see it, but nice...More

We just stumbled across it while wandering around. It’s a nice one, with multiple levels and almost seems like an entry portal.

We came across this whilst walking to the duomo, not sure why it's even listed tbh, it's just sat there down a very uninteresting back street surrounded by apartments covered in grafitti, would not make a special journey to find it.

This isn't hard to find really - it is actually visible from Via Roma if you look up the right street. It's fabulous to see how houses and roads have been built around it, that is still standing and appears to be quite robust. There's...More

As I was walking in Salerno, suddenly I saw these ruins of mediaeval 9th century aqueduct between the new buldings and over the new rood. I like it !

Aquaduct or aqcuadotto is hidden in the downtown of Salerno. When first saw it eventhough we were looking for it, we just bumped into it during our walk in downtown. Looks funny with all the palmtrees around.

Salerno didn't wow me in general, but it has some nice gems hidden with it. This aqueduct is just an example of what gives this city a subtle exotic touch :)

Remnants of this mediaeval 9th century aqueduct, still stand tall and rather than serving a pratical purpose as it was intended, it now forms part of the cityscape. Sections disappear into walls, greenery spills over the top and cars drive through the arches. It still...More
