This street is full of lovely small shops (many of them selling the usual tourist stuff), small cafeterias and nice restaurants (which are not the cheapest). Strolling the street, you will surely come to the Amalfi Cathedral, then at the end you will get to the sea. It's interesting to sit at a caffe and watch the world go by.

We stayed in Sorrento for cost effective hotels. SITA bus with around 4 Euro one way takes effortlessly to Amalfi in 1.5 hours in a road full of beautiful views of sea, buildings and curvy mountains. We have seen few videos of a calm sea at Amalfi, but when we went it sea was aggressive waves and splashing water crossing... More

There is much to see and do, and if you like taking pictures this is a great place. Also lots of places to shop and ear.

Wandering the main street, exploring interesting shops, taking in the views, reading about the historic fountain, admiring Moorish-influenced craftsmanship on the church, taking side-paths for unique experiences, eating at the local cafes, and soaking up the local color and charming character ... that is what tourists do here in Amalfi.

Wonderful place to stop and take pictures of the cathedral overlooking the square. It's a climb up the staircase to get inside.

It is well worth trecking up the stairs to see the Cintrada S. Simone in Amafi town. It is as beautiful snide as it is outside.

The impressive flight of steps up to the cathedral from the small town square of Amalfi makes this a great place to take your photos

The best views for tourists are from a boat on the water, but for somebody looking to see the culture and enjoy the experience go into town and speak with locals. Much to see!

Obviously a popular tourist town, it has a picturesque harbour area, narrow streets with many small shops, cafes and restaurants leading into the piazza with the striking Duoma [cathedral] of St. Andrew.
