While we were on Caprera Island we knew we couldn't miss this home/museum of Giuseppe Garibaldi. It's very easy to drive to (the signage is good) from Maddalena Island. Visitors may also be welcomed by a friendly grey cat at the museum's entrance. While the tour wasn't in English, we were given a detailed brochure in English and in French... More

Unfortunately we could not get an English tour, but the house is so wonderful. It is absolute bliss wondering around. So perfect. So tranquil. If you had to end your days, why not here. Garibaldi was a hero but politically he no longer fitted in, so the government had to find somewhere for him to sit out his days. And... More
