It doesn't sound like it'll be up to much but the Museo del Arroz was an interesting hour or so out of the heat. It's very friendly and there is a guide who will explain the exhibits in english. Surprisingly enough it is all about rice and it's importance to the development of Valencia.

This is a restored rice processing plant which dates to 1900. We took the line 5 underground to Maritim- Serreria and then hopped on the tram (one stop). It is a short walk from there. We had the place to ourselves. The guide put on a video about the history of rice with English subtitles. Then she explained in detail... More

Rice is of overwhelming importance in Valencia and therefore it is logical to have a museum. However, it is not well known and it is certainly hugely undervalued and underrated. Former rice mill in the fabulous Cabanal.

There is also a litle laboratory where guides show you what is the current rice processing like. It is very curious and there is also some info in french. It is a very good... More

The house was a rice processing plant, which has been fully restored. It would be very interesting to visit, if only there was information in languages other than spanish.

This is a really excellent museum giving an insight into the production of rice. It is on 3 floors - you take the lift to the top and work your way down. Sadly none of the details are in English so if you don't read Spanish take your dictionary. Luckily I was there at the time of a group of... More
