The lunch was delicious, I had a prawn pil pil and paella and both were the best I tasted. We came back for dinner and once again the food was amazing. We had the special sea bass for mains which is cooked in front of you and was very nice. It ended up costing quite a lot as I didn’t realise the price was per kg and not just for the meal, should’ve read the small print. Food was really good on both of my visits and I would definitely recommend this restaurantVisited June 2022Travelled with familyWritten 22 October 2022
- littlesis4444Horley, United Kingdom29 contributionsAmazing beach with great facilitiesAlways clean, blue flag beach with restaurants, cafes, wine bars, beach huts bars and shops along the beach front. There are a few small shops and the main town square is only a few mins walk. Long sandy beach with a public WC available near the main parking area. Gets very busy in July / August but empties out at 2/3pm when the Spanish go home for their siesta. A really lovely place to spend a week. More of a Spanish holiday area so lovely to be among the locals.Visited June 2019Written 3 May 2020
- Steve59Ruffec, France76 contributionsDay TripThe beach at La Mata is beautiful. It is a flat sandy beach and you can literally walk for miles. Really good idea to have boards to cross the fine sand and feet washing points. There are several restaurants to enjoy a meal. Ohh how I wish mankind would take their rubbish away with them. I walked a couple of hundred yards up and down the beach at the water line and filled a large crisp bag with bits of plastic, polis styrene, bottle tops and a couple of cable ties ?.Visited November 2021Written 11 November 2021

Very nice place but there are too many Stones . The weather was magnificent and the air was so pure without any smog. Hansome lifeguards. Great turtles.I really recommend this place.

Best beach in Torrevieja or near Torrevieja. Always plenty of place, nice clean beach, clean water, plenty of places to buy food and beverages, nice connection to most of the places. Absolutely the best beach in this area where you dont have to squeeze yourself through the people to suntan or swim in the sea.

It is very busy during the day. However, after 19.00, it was much quieter. Also, parking was therefore easier. Nice place to to walk along the beachfront, very breezy, and a couple of nice places to get ice cream in the area.

Wow this was a little treat for the family and we came here most of our beach outings. After day in the sun, they have lovely restaurants for everyone’s choice just above the beach. I recommend the fish & chips one where you have a stunning view of the beach. A lovely breeze to cool you down with a ice cold beer. Highly recommend this spot!!!!

This is a beautiful flat beach that is very clean, vast and very sandy with clean water. It was a warm day, so we bought a throw from a seller on the beach and sat on the sand for a few hours watching the world go by, gazing at the views across the water. There were lots of people strolling along the beach and families enjoying quality time together. It was nice to see children building sand castles and playing games. Along the beach there was a lovely walkway lined with bars, restaurants and a beach shop. This is a great place for families and people who enjoy long coastal walks.

Hotel Playas De Torreiveja is 5 minutes from the La Mata beach and handy for shops and pubs and you wont be disappointed with location or beach.

We are due to travel to Torrevieja in August I wondered if the beaches are all open and mainly La Mata Beach? Also can you park easily and do you have to pay? Thank you Melinda x

Hi Mindy. A really good site for any questions on what's going on in the Costa Blanca region is costa blanca forum (all one word)
I gather spaces on beaches have to be reserved via an app at the moment. Masks are to be worn when social distancing not possible etc.
But best thing would be to search on the forum for answers to your questions. Or indeed post your specific questions as the people on the forum are really fabulous at responding super quickly and knowledgeably.
Have a wonderful holiday!

Hi,
We always come here and rent the beds and umbrellas at the top of the beach. This year in May they were gone. Will be back in September just wondering if they are back?

As far as I know there will not be any beds or umbrellas this season on La Mata beach. According to one of the local newspapers there was some sort of mix up with the paperwork in the office that grants the franchises or licences for the beach furniture. Consequently nobody has been granted the necessary permits to hire out sunbeds and brolleys this season.
Hur är det med solsängar att hyra?

Why don’t you have any sunbeds and umbrellas any more? We were amazed to see they no longer are there!
