The subway station at Puerta del Sol is one of the busiest in Madrid and it certainly has one of the more unique entrances you will find in the system. The subway is an inexpensive and fabulous way to get around the city.

It the metro stop in Plaza Sol. It gets you from point A to point B. You can travel to airport for 5.00 euro. It's clean.

It's just an underground station offering a reasonable service. We had no problems using the Madrid metro with the usual map layout to find your way around.
