A good place to walk, run, walk with the family, have a picnic, ride a bike. It is also possible to eat well and have good Spanish food around the lake region. One can visit on hot and cold days. Ideal to enjoy the local nature.

Lovely massive park where you can relax from the city. You can access the park by bus, walking and even by metro and you can have fun either with a bike rental or by renting a boat around the lake. Its a great place to spend sometime and a good spot to pass if you choose to visit the Debod... More

A great place to come if you have some extra time in Madrid or are a repeat traveller looking for something a bit different. Basically its a huge urban park (think Hampstead Heath as a UK equivalent) great for running, cycling or strolling. Accessible from several metro stations, we took the metro to Casa de Campo and walked back to... More

The park is very average and nothing special about it. There are better parks in Madrid that offer more activities and are more green or lush than Casa de Campo.

Casa del Campo is vast. As the weather was scorchingly hot when we were there, we had a gentle amble round the lake, then rewarded ourselves with drinks by the lake, followed by lunch (and more drinks!) at one of the many lakeside restaurants. A great place for people watching! Easily reached on the Metro - line 10, Lago station.

On a hot summer day, the outdoor pool at Piscina Lago is the place to cool off. Right next to Lago Metro stop. 36m length, 20m wide...modern changing facilities, lots of space and €4.50 to get in for an adult. Great value place to visit.

I never appreciated how vast this place is until we got there! Stunning but also daunting in size, particularly on foot, much better visited by car or cycle. We arrived at Lago station and walked along the lake and then up along an old access road to the teleferico cablecar station situated towards the centre of the park. Beautiful stands... More

We took the cable car and walked through the park before stopping at the nearby outdoor pool. The park is huge and although nice to walk through was nothing special. The restaurants that looked into the lake were overpriced and the one we chose was average to say the least. If you have to chose then Retiro Park should be... More

We decided to take a stroll in this park. We avoided the area with the theme park and the zoo and focused on the area with the lake and restaurants surrounding it. It was beautiful. We did not eat here. We entered the park near the Prince Pio train station. It was quite a walk to get to where we... More

This covers a huge area on outskirts of Madrid. The zoo is located there which is what I went to see.
