The free walking tour was amazing. Our guide, Silvia was awesome! She was extremely energetic, engaging, and knowledgable. We enjoyed learning about different things throughout the city as well as becoming familiar with the area. I would highly recommend this tour and suggest you do it at the beginning of the trip to become acclimated with the beautiful city.

We took the free walking tour of Madrid, which was a great way to get an overview of the city. The guide, Guillermo (or William) was great, articulate, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He had a great grasp of history and the tour allowed us to better plan our days in Madrid. We highly recommend this tour.

i did two tours and a pub crawl with these guys, and it was the best experience ever. you get to know a lot about the history and the legends of Madrid during the day, then you get to party like locals, which is a great and unique experience. Will definitely join them again next time

I was on the pub crawl on 18 March. Probably the best pub crawl I've ever been on (from what I remember). And Silvia was a brilliant host. So much fun!

We did 3 tours with MADride in one day, and we loved them! We took Madrid Essential tour with Lucia at 11 am, then Madrid Highlights with Frank at 5 pm, and finally Flavours & Flamenco tour with Sanja at 8:15 pm. I think all the guides were great but we especially liked Frank and Sanja, kudos to you, guys!... More

I went on a free walking tour with Silvia which was a great experience. We were a small group and after the tour we all went out for dinner together. I met up with part of the group later during my stay and thanks to them my days in Madrid were even better.

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
