The Iglesia Arzobispal Castrense used to be part of an old convent complex, demolished about 70 years ago. Baroque church, lots of decorations.

This is just a church, but it has a nice architecture, it is well preserved and it seems to be real quiet place for such a central cathedral. If you really are into churches and want to visit, pay attention - it might be closed...More

Saw this church by chance- and it turned out to be a Cathedral! It was nice to visit and the Blessed Sacrament was open. So many saints that I do not know. Just read thru their names. Beautiful churches but no one inside to pray.

We stumbled across this cathedral in a back street when it was closed and went back so that we could have a look inside, it was worth it. Beautiful interior and very peaceful.

This is a very underrated attraction to the sites of Madrid. After being underwhelmed by the main cathedral, this small church, the military church, is a truly wonderful find, with a feeling of peace about it that inspires you to sit down and reflect for...More
