My boyfriend and I were wanting to see Segovia, but arrived really early at Chamartin one day to see that all trains were fully booked. We booked the tickets online and the prices ranged between 6€ - 30€ (all tourist class and same duration of...More

This is one of Madrid's main hubs for the cercanias, metro and high speed trains. What a dump. Dirty, ugly, and old. It is in dire need of an update. Don't even think of using bathrooms! I have seen cleaner bathrooms in a roadside gas...More

Chamartin is not as large (size-wise) as Atocha but it is much cleaner, better organized and has more shops, cafes & restaurants for travelers. We rode trains from Madrid to Salamanca and to Avila (on separate occasions) & had no difficulty navigating our way around....More

Not as large as the Atocha Station but just as clean and organized for the train traveller. All the travel times are digitized and puctually displayed. Excellent security.

The public transportation for the City of Madrid is easy to use. Clean. The subway lets you access the entire city, cheaply and easily. The trains run pretty frequently I don't think I ever waited more than 5 minutes for a train.

Chamartin Station is situated in a residential area and not City Centre. It is located just off the motorway. It is closer to the airport than the city centre.

We had a hotel out by the airport but came in by train; our hotel had a shuttle but it was much easier to get a cab, which cost $25 including tip. This is a busy station, it is always confusing on your first trip...More
