Madrid is an interesting city and offers a lot to international visitors. Retiro is near the finest museum of Madrid and it is a delight to walk through its alleys.

This huge park is very well laid out, with paths leading to various gardens and places of interest. Lots of trees provide welcome shade and there are many kiosks and cafes to get a snack and/or a beverage. Well worth the visit.

I'm afraid not, you can only rent individual rowboats or go on a group boat for an hour, I believe. However there are fountains and nice shady areas around the park to keep cool from the heat!
