We were catching a late flight, so we went to the park. It was relatively crowded, and while there were no roses in the rose garden (winter), we could imagine. We enjoyed the two exhibits at the park, as well as the ecological garden.

I spent a few hours exploring Retiro Park when I had some time to kill in Madrid. It was quite busy, but because it's such a big place it didn't feel crowded. There are plenty of secluded paths, fountains and statues to discover, and hundreds of benches or lawns to relax on. The Palacio De Cristal is a stunning building... More

great for full day of half day on a sunny day! Lots going on, lush with lots to do and see. Tons of performance art and activites for kids. The crystal palace closes at 5:40, so get there before that!!! Cute cafe by crystal palace if you need wifi, grab a coffee and get 30 min free:)

Retiro park is such a beautiful place to escape the busy city of Madrid. With the crystal palace and many other gorgeous stops in the park it's a perfect place to relax.

This park is a great place to wander. There are many cafe/drink outlets and things to do such as hiring boats on the lake, looking at some of the exhibitions.

Still, it's a park. Within walking distance from the Palace, it's worth a visit. We were there in winter, when there wasn't as much blooming, but the formal gardens are quite nice.

It's an iconic location and a must-see if you visit Madrid. In the warm weather you can rent bikes but otherwise it's for walking. Enjoy the statues and the botanical gardens. Great picnic location too. Watch out for pick pockets!

Nice park easy to spot also near to shops and restaurants. You can best visit here during spring and summer time so you can enjoy the flowers bloomed already and nice hot weather. Museum inside, boat rentals and so.
