The Mercado San Miguel is a great spot to get a quick bite. It has a fast paced atmosphere and a lively spirit. You will enjoy the many traditional plates.

Look around at all there is to offer before making a choice, but you can have an appetizer, main entree, drinks and dessert for a bargain. Most tapas are €1-4 approx. it’s next to plaza mayor so easy to find as well.

This place is good for couple or to go solo, having a lot of friends sit together is complicated. But the food is good and there are several options as far as what to get.

Situated near the plaza Mayor, this modern market is very tidy, very attractive. One find meats, fruit tastefully displayed, olives , cakes, wines. Well worth a visit. A treat of a markzy

The market is very very busy, packed with tourists and locals. It's a good place to try a little bit of everything. Prices varied at each food stand. They need more seating options.

Small bite sized foods in a crowded market. It was fun to walk through to see the kinds of tapas but we didn't eat much. I would not have sought this out as a tourist and likely wouldn't return again. The highlight was seeing the...More

Just outside the Plaza Mayor , this Mecado is now a series of Tapas stands . Very wide range of selections and all of good quality . A little pricey compared to neighborhood tapas bars but worth a visit . Grab spots at a community...More

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street
performers, colorful lights, window shopping,
restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and
churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a
collection of plazas interconnected by a network of
side streets. Some of these side streets are wide
pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so
it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as
