This is, on a good day by far a must for Gibraltar. It can be as easy as you like or turn into real cardio exercise if you you race it. The Med Steps is a walk from Jews Gate half way up the Rock to the top and times walked range from around 20 minutes to 45. It is... More

My husband and I, 50ish, active but not athletic, took on the challenge of the Mediterranean Steps going from the top of the Rock, to the bottom. Not sure I would survive the climb the other way! We really felt we had accomplished something when we finished. As long as we took our time and watched our step, it wasn't... More

Having done this walk many times, I would suggest that it is much easier starting at the top and going down - if you want to walk up steps to get to the top of the Rock, try going up the Charles V wall instead (but mind the monkeys on the bottom section). The Mediterranean Steps offer the best walk... More

this is an amazing way to see gibraltar and being surrounded by its natural setting away from the madness of town, with some of the best views of gibraltar spain and africa :) , can be a hard walk but has lots of stops for viewing , so take it slow and enjoy :)

I went up the Mediterranean steps to the very top in September 2016 as part of a day trip from our cruise ship which was docked in port. There were some very nice views on the way up so it is worth doing but would be easier to do it walking down. We did it on a day when it... More

It really is hard work and you need to be pretty fit and go on a not too hot day. Great views and lots to see Only downside you may come across apes who are guarding their territory and have been known to attack. Don't take food they can smell it a mile off

This is an outstanding trail walk, but you need to be reasonably fit, and nimble.Well worth the effort for the views and wild life.

You need to be brave as this is a long walk up steps, so good walking shoes are essential. Amazing views over the Straits and Gibraltar - well worth exploring

We went with our eight year old son while I was seven months pregnant. The views were well worth the hike. The steps were steep at some points but I never felt it was unsafe for either of us. My son has a great time and it was a great way to "stretch" our legs after being in the car... More

I recommend that you do this from the top to the bottom. Not for the faint hearted, steep descents but magnificent views. Wear sensible shoes and take water and a camera and don't forget to look down and up for best effect.
