The castle is a medieval fortification comprising various buildings, gates and fortified walls, with the dominant features being the Tower of Homage and the Gate House/Citadel (the one with the domed roof). The Tower of Homage is clearly visible to all visitors to Gibraltar, not only because of its construction but also because of its dominant and strategic position, having... More

This was a stop off point after being exhausted from walking down from the top,I always try to imagine what it must have been like all those years ago,When you leave if you are walking follow the road to the church it's much easier than what felt like a couple of thousand steps.

We visited after we had been to the siege tunnels. You have great views from here and it is a great little stop off along the way.

Access is by widely available Multi Sight Ticket which should be shown on entry or alternative buy at the gate (more expensive). Allow some time to look at this attraction properly though there is not much information considering the historical importance of the attraction. Best read guides before visiting as rising the Rock is often too rushed as taxis are... More

worth a short visit but not too much to see, good walk though and some lovely old properties on the way. One visit would be enough.

The castle is an icon of Gibraltar's history and the exhibition inside further explains the turbulent past that Gibraltar has experienced.

This is one of those attractions you're best getting a guided tour of, or downloading your own audio guide, or bringing information. There isn't a lot of signage, but you do get some great views down into the city, and an appreciation of the military history of the rock. Your 10 pound ticket also admits you to other sights on... Part of our tour enabled us to visit this location . It is mind boggling to see and read all about it. The view from the top is awesome, may not suit all as many steps to climb.

Minibus rock tour stopped here as part of tour as tunnels were closed. It's a steep climb up to the top floor via circular stairway but great views from the top parapet. The castle is basic inside and has been well restored and is quite historic to the Rock. A good 30 minute history stop.

We were taken to this place during a half-day tour of Gibraltar and I have to say I was disappointed with it. It is merely a shell of a building with recent staircase additions to allow access to - not a lot really! Personally I would say don't bother!
