This old tower is beautiful and stunning with very historic architecture and built from stone pieces, it is wonderful, we recommend.

Great view from the top
Nov 2019
Great view from the top. But be ready for steps up & down. There's a lift but I don't know about wheelchair access overall. There are some really nice exhibits.

Stunning views, a lift for toddlers!
Aug 2019 • Family
Visited with a toddler, combined entrance with the Circ. A bit uneven underfoot, but really interesting.
The view from the top was amazing!

The first section up has a exposed wooden staircase through the tower void (not good if you're scared of heights), then again up to the next level. Afterwards, there is a narrow stone spiral staircase up to the terrace. Thankfully there was a lift for toddlers/pushchairs/impaired mobility.

Views were fabulous, and a very welcome breeze at the top!

Steeped in history
Mar 2019 • Couples
It takes some imagination to visualise the passageways leading to the roman circus above - thankfully there are prints and drawings to help. There is a lift to the top of the tower or stairs - good views from the top.

Impressive
Sep 2018 • Family
Originally built in Roman times to house the stairs that connected the lower city to the forum, and has been used throughout history - as a medieval royal residence for the Kingdom of Aragon and as a prison during the Civil war. Contains some interesting exhibitions, gives you access to what remains of the Circus and if you climb to the top of the tower, you can also access fantastic panoramic views of Tarragona. A must see when visiting the area.

Cool Roman Landmark
Mar 2018 • Couples
Cool Roman landmark right in the old city. Definitely worth a stop when you are in town and a short walk to the Circ and the Amfiteatre. If you enjoy Roman landmarks then this is a must visit. The view from the top is amazing but be ready for some stairs.

Good views
Mar 2018 • Couples
This is a stone tower, part of the old city walls which is accessed as part of the Roman Circus exhibit in the old town of Tarragona. Stairs to the top will give good views out to sea.

part of the Circ visit
Mar 2018 • Couples
you get to the torre through an underground tunnel from the Circ Roma - or the other way round, as there is an entrance on both sides. the stairs up are not for people afraid of walking staircases... but if you make it, it is worth it.

Nice city view and impressive architecture
Feb 2018 • Couples
Paradise and hell, this place has a beautiful rooftop view of Tarragona but also a magnificient underground roman tunnels used by the romans to walk under the roman hippodrome. The inside of the remaining tower of the medieval castle is gigantic and seeing the different stone walls of the different centuries is amazing.

Truly atmospheric
Oct 2017 • Solo
Visit was made directly after 'Amfiteatre roma' visit since this is just across the road so to speak. The combined ticket bought earlier gave entrance into the Praetorium , Tower and the remains of the Roman circus. Relatively quiet early on a Saturday morning.
Great info and audiovisual presentation. The subterranean vaults are so, so atmospheric. Even more emotive is the fact that part of it was used as a prison during and just after the Civil War. Seeing the old photos of prisoners' living conditions was a stark reminder of a bleak period in the city's history.
The Roman Tower has wonderful views of the city and port . Really narrow steps so was glad I had sensible footwear for the climb. There is a lift for those who need it though .
