Great cable car dating from 1933, relatively inexpensive method of transport up the mountain. Amazing views, although not for the faint hearted! 2x Adults and 2x under 11 returns were €33

Coming from Barcelona, we'd bought a ticket package of 2 Metro tix, train to Monserrat, round trip cable car, and the funiculars to higher up the mountain. The only disappointment with this package was one of the funiculars was not in operation, even though we...More

As a young couple with a 3year old we used an Uber to get from our hotel to the train station (Plaça d’espanya) and then followed the sign for Montserrat in the station to go downstairs. There is a specific desk down there for ticket...More

Do a return from either top or bottom even if you have bought ticket for train and rack railway. It is worth the extra. The views are spectacular and the span from near the top is awesome. Hold onto your stomach and make sure you...More

When you travel to Montserrat you have the choice of the funicular or the cable car to reach the monastery level. We chose the cable car which is quicker as gives you much closer and more impressive views. Even with a fill car everyone could...More

There are a couple of ways to the Montserrat Monastery once you've made it to the train stop. We chose to go up and down on the Aeri de Montserrat due to the frequent lifts, and great views. Not for the faint of heart if...More

I can't appreciate why there are only 2 cable cars in operation, 1 going up while the other coming down. Though the ride is only 5 mins, be ready to queue, depending on which season and what time you arrive. Being mindful of this, I...More

On a clear sunny day there's no better place to be. The views over Barcelona are stunning, and the view of monastery when you get out of cable car is breathtaking

The views were good. You get to look at mountains and valleys from a different point of view. The ride was fairly short compared to cost.

I'm not sure about the station in Calella, but I got my combo ticket at the Pl. Espanya station in Barcelona. You could try to connect there. Be sure to go early; there is plenty to do at Montserrat.
