The journey doesn't take very long to reach the top. The views are both stunning and breathtaking. The train runs about every 15mins I think. It's worth going on if only for the experience and views
We visited Montserrat on April 16/17. From the basilica the funicular looks VERY steep compared to others I have been on. The entry was relatively quick. I stood in the lowest end of the car against the glass so I could get a great view....More
We took the funicular because the path is quite difficult. We bought the TOT ticket so we had included in the fee the entrance to the museum, audiovisual, funiculars and a very good buffet lunch. The views are so beautiful
The engineering marvel which gets you to the top in about 7 minutes is only the start of the fun. Views across the main monastery and church of the Black Madonna and then breathtaking vistas, hidden chapels and miles of hiking/walking trails come into view....More
It is an unbelievable feat of modern engineering. Incredible views and beautiful mountain formations. Allow plenty of time for your visit.
The views from the top are amazing. Just above the funicular exit at the top there is a small exhibition area. This leads to an open terrace with views of the monastery below you. We just had time for a short walk....again with amazing views.
