Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Miquel was amazing! It was our first day in Girona and what a great way to start. Highly recommend his tour before going to the Jewish Museum in Girona. We all had a good understanding of the history through Miquel so the Museum was throughly enjoyable as we felt like historians! Miquel is a must if visitng Girona and want to learn about its Jewish history!

Our day with Miquel was the highlight of our week in Barcelona! He met us at the train station and took us to the most beautiful coastal town of Tossa de Mar in the morning. It was magical! We came back to Girona for lunch and an afternoon of exploring this amazing town and learning about the history. Miquel was a fantastic guide, incredibly knowledgeable, and so much fun to spend the day with. We felt like we made a new friend. His communication before our trip was excellent too. Don't think twice, book your tour with him!

If you are looking for a knowledgeable, responsive, and personable guide of Girona and environs, look no further than Miquel of Girona Tours. We had a fabulous day from the pickup at Girona train station till drop off. Miquel really gives you the Catalan perspective and vibe of the city. We appreciated his knowledge of Jewish history and sites of the area. Highly recommend!!!

A most beautiful day with an excellent guide! Miquel was so knowledgeable and so patient on our tours around Girona and Besalu. He found precisely how to connect with my US graduate students. He weaved recent and more distal history throughout our visits. He understood the complexity of Jewish live in the region and extended students’ understanding of the role of the Jewish people in Spain. I highly recommend Miquel for any group tours!

Miquel was amazing!! He met us at the train station and it felt like we were meeting an old friend. We asked loads of questions about Catalonian history and he always had an answer. He tailored the trip to our needs and interests, and we are so thrilled we found him. Highly recommend having Miquel show you around this beautiful little city!

We couldn't get a guided tour, but read other's trios and got a map. It was Sunday, so everything closed by 2:00 pm. But we toured the Jewish museum which gave us the history of Girona. Then we wandered through various old areas, windy streets, lots of stairs. We walked along most of the City walls, great views. I would've liked to see the Arab baths, but it was closed. The colourful houses along the river were attractive. If you like walking through Old Cities, take a day trip from Barcelona.

Miquel was amazing. I learned many new things like identifying gothic or other styles of architecture which i am still using when seeing other cities. The speed of the tour was very good and we took our time to see things. Miquel was very knowledgeable and the Girona Trips is the best way to see girona and its surrounding.

Miquel was a great guide! He was very quick to respond to my emails and met us at the train station in girona. We took the high speed train from Barcelona which only took 35 minutes and the train was very clean and right on time. Miquel first gave us a walking tour of the Jewish quarter in girona as well as other areas in the old city. He did not rush us and was very informative, he knows a lot about Jewish history since he is a native of girona. He also gave us a few minutes to relax in a nice cafe and have some coffee. He took us to a very nice restaurant for lunch situated on a beautiful lake with the mountains in the background. The food was great and very reasonable. Afterwards, we visited the medieval town of besalau, which was gorgeous. It was my favorite spot. There was lots of Jewish history there as well. He got us back to the train in plenty of time. I would highly recommend this tour , not only for the Jewish history, but miquel was very interesting and informative.

Miquel was easy to contact in the planning stages of the tour. He was able to pick us up right outside our accommodation in the city of Girona and as soon as we started sharing our interests he matched the content of our tour to suit. I had lived in Catalonia the previous year and wanted to go into more detail into the history, culture, and daily life of Catalans in Girona Province.
We visited Castellfollit de la Roca - a town perched on a cliff in the volcanic region of La Garrotxa, the medieval town of Besalú which has surprisingly artsy features and unique stories like an old school that's since been converted into a bar, and finally Banyoles. We walked around the absolutely tranquil, turquoise lake with the a view of the Pryenees. More than just seeing beautiful and unique historic sites, it was special as the setting of the conversations we shared with Miquel about modern Catalonia, including animosity between the football/soccer teams, religious perspectives, the best Catalan festivals, where the hippies live, the Catalan independence movement, and the way English is taught in school. I felt that we received a totally relatable view into life in the region. After the tour, Miquel even gave his card so that if we had any questions while we were staying in Girona, we could contact him. This tour absolutely stands out to me as a fun and valuable experience - convenient, well-considered, and very comfortable. I fully recommend Miquel's Girona Trips - and particularly the half day tour through Besalú and Castellfollit de la Roca. It's a really interesting way to understand the fuller lives of the people in Girona and Catalonia, and I think Miquel really enjoys sharing the broader region too. Thank you Miquel, it was such a memorable tour and I had a lot of fun! You're very personable and that was definitely the best part.

We´ve visited Girona on a lovely spring saturday, during a sunny day. Althoug we did not have that much time (between our arrival and departure from Girona), we´ve seen everything worth seeing and also listened to a bunch of interesting facts and background info (like that Girona was "converted to" Paris in the movie "The Parfume". We also visited the town walls, and get to places, which we will not be able to find by ourselves or on a large guided tour. Miguel (our guide) was very nice, speeded up the tour according to our time plan, but still managed to provide us with a nice experience and detailed walk-thru of the city center. If you are ever planning to visit Girona, take a guide, it´s worth paying for.

I am trying to locate Miguel to hire him for a ship excursion tour to Girona when we dock in Palamos. Do you have a direct email address or phone number for him as he is no longer reachable through Tours by Locals.
