A wonderful visit on a rainy Sunday. The main attraction is what is below the museum in a self guided walk of what was the Roman City beneath "the old city" of Barcelona. It puts some of the city into a historic perspective.

Made the effort to find this place by foot and wasnt dissappointed, if you like learning about the local history of the place you are visiting then this is for you. With children on a hot spanish day?? Probably not!

I highly recommend the roman-era exhibits, mainly the mosaic and a metal glass showing the route of the Via Augusta, it covers from the pre-history up to modern times

Visit on Sunday when it is quiet. Well set out with easy to find information which gives context to what you are looking at as you walk around the Old Town. Fill your water bottle at the free cooler in the cloister.
