The museum is modern and accessible. However, if you don't read Catalan there is not enough explanation of the many interesting things on exhibit. The building is very interesting (a former monastery) and the exhibits well presented. But, unfortunately we could not appreciate the City's history because we could not read the information.

Girona is a fantastic city, small and very romantic. I am not into museums but this one is a good starting point. Once you get to know the museum which is very rich in history, go all over the city!

Firstly, we didn't know about the TiquetM6 Museum Pass which gets you half price off the other 5 once you've paid full at the first: we would have done more museums if we'd known! This museum is a bit of a curate's egg, they've attempted to collect what they have but it's spotty---some interesting printing machinery, beautiful cloister on the... More

It only cost us like 2 euro to get in with the Girona museum pass (since we already paid full price at the Jewish museum). The museum is poorly laid out, confusing. One floor has English pamphlets and the next floor is only in Catalan. I have been to a lot of museums and this one was one of the... More

If you love history this is the place for you. Make sure you leave at least 2 hours to work your way through both the underground ruins where you can walk through the old streets of Barcelona and the displays upstairs. Whilst not as awe inspiring as the underground streets in Rome it is well worth a visit. The Jewish... More

A wonderful visit on a rainy Sunday. The main attraction is what is below the museum in a self guided walk of what was the Roman City beneath "the old city" of Barcelona. It puts some of the city into a historic perspective.

This museum has really good stuff in it and girona has a fascinating history. However the museum is disjointed and almost all the displays have extensive documentation in Spanish and Catalan but not English. There is a little book in French and English but the museum would be immeasurably improved by some joined up thinking. A sense that they are... More

We went on the first Sunday of the month so admission was free. The audio tour was not available at any price on that day, and our Spanish is poor so much of the upper floors were left to guess work. Nevertheless the place was fascinating, and the bottom levels with the archeological digs were explained in English and that... More
