La Ribera, formerly Vilanova del Mar and the centre of the stately life of the city from the 13th to 14th centuries, singularly testifies to the longstanding relationship between the city and the sea.La Ribera conserves its multi-coloured medieval urban layout ,of narrow, twisting and intertwining streets-where most...More

Another old part of town, Similar like Barri Gotic end surroundings. Lots of narrow streets, interesting but not outstanding buildings, restaurants, small shops.... Nice for a walk, but not a must to see that part of town as well....

This is another old quarter right next to Barri Gotic and almost as interesting. A little less beautiful in my opinion, and less central so it's better to take a hotel in Barri Gotic, but still lots of attractions, and it's great to walk around.

The old city in Barcelona is so wonderful. Also La Ribera - El Born - the neighborhood between Barri Gotic and Parc Ciutadella. You can walk around here in many hours.

An old part of the city, the commercial center between 13th and 15th century, with many narrow streets, nice palaces and a feeling of a past, medieval times. This was actually the city’s shore in those times, because the part known as Barceloneta was just...More

The very best part of old town in Barcelona. Go away from the touristic gothic quarters, cross Via Laetania and then get lost (keep a little left first). It's so much to see and just to soak in the atmosphere at night with all the...More

The Barrio de la Ribera is the area around the Picasso Museum and has many narrow streets. There are many small interesting stores and many places to eat. This is a place to explore.

This section of Barcelona brims with authenticity. We roamed the larger streets and alleys, especially enjoying the narrow passageways and small shops. Street vendors seem focused as much on the locals as on tourists. The boundaries of these barrios aren't well marked off, so I...More

I really liked this part of our tour. This is the neighborhood of the Ciutat Vella that you don't normally see as a tourist. I visited in the morning and left right after lunch. This must be a good time to visit. I didn't get...More

The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually

regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
