Did the modernisme tour is Filipa in July and it was fantastic! We stumbled upon this tour by accident when we saw a big group waiting to head out on the tour. We paid direct and weren't sure what to expect but absolutely loved it. Even though the tour is listed at 2 hours, she takes us around for 3... More

I had brought a map of art nouveau buildings with me, and was delighted to discover that many of the buildings were withing easy walking distance of my hostel. Gaudi is the most well known name for this design form, but Barcelona had many other architects who created beautiful buildings as well. Also, a walk down Las Ramblas to the... More

A great walking tour. Our guide Filipa was great. She made it fun and provided great detail into the sights we saw. Even though it was a 2 hour tour she stayed with us 3.5 hours! Great experience which I highly recommend.

We did a walking tour of Gaudi and Modernisme with Lizzy, the dwarf size tour guide. One might wonder at the beginning, if a small sized person can lead a group on a walking tour. But within 2 minutes of the tour, you can be rest assured that you have not just an efficient but very capable guide who can... More

We did the morning English tour of the Sagrada Familia - a wonderful experience! We then went on to do the walking tour of Gaudi's Barcelona. AJ (Andres Jennings) has a wonderful way of imparting his knowledge in a upbeat manner. He is speaks well and projects his voice over the rumble of Barcelona traffic - the two hours past... More

Booked this walking tour from the tourist information centre in Plaça de Catalunya (which I almost missed as it's underground!) and found it a well spent 2 hours of discovery. Our guide equipped us with radio earpieces so that the whole group could follow his commentary over the traffic noise and off we went. In the 2 hours of our... More

This could have easily been a five star review if we had the same tour guide that we had for the Gotic your earlier in the day. Every guide could be potentially different. Our guide went off topic a fair amount but was quite knowledgeable of the tour and had lots of great answers. Don't let my review discourage you... More

Having attended an excellent free tour (Barcelona Turisme Walking Tours Gotic) and based on the great reviews on tripadvisor, we had high expectation on this tour. The purpose of the tour is to show you the modernisme movement during the turn of the 20th century, and how this was reflected through various architecture masterpieces. Our experience was let down due... More

So beautiful architecture! What the guide told us what really interesting and the modernisme is intimately linked to the modern history of the city, you will also get a good understanding of this, why art nouveau blossomed in this city. Very recommended!

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
