The Barcelona L'Aquàrium is located in the old harbour, Port Vell, and is the world's most important marine leisure and education centre dedicated to Mediterranean undersea life. It is the perfect place to find out about the seabed and all its different species. You'll learn about them through the 66 Mediterranean and tropical tanks which are home to 11,000 animals from some 450 different species. The most spectacular of all is the immense Oceanarium, the only one in Europe. A transparent 80-metre-long tunnel runs through the Oceanarium where you can walk among sharks, giltheads, morays, ocean sunfish and many more species. Planeta Aqua and Explora! show the importance of water in the development of our planet, and kids can discover the underwater world by using their five senses.

The aquarium is huge and has a variety of aquatic animals on display. But if you have visited other similar aquariums, say in Singapore, you wouldn’t be so impressed but the major attraction here is the opportunity to go cage diving with the sharks!!! We...More

We ended up going to the Aquarium during a hot summer afternoon looking for a place to cool down. The entry fee is not too bad and there is a lot to see, the big fish tank with overhead passage being the main attraction. Funniest...More

One of my little boys is shark-mad so this was a real treat for him. The aquarium is situated next to the port and near to a large shopping centre with plentiful parking and restaurants for lunch etc. This was a good half day with...More

This aquarium keeps large fish in rather small tanks and our overall impression from this visit was sadness for the fish that were barely able to move or swimming in endless circles. The penguins were in a sorry state compared to eg the aquarium in...More

We took our young children to the Aquarium on a recent visit and we all had a great time! There is a large variety of sea life to be seen and the impressive shark tank was thrilling. On a less positive note, we found it...More

As some reviewers pointed out, perhaps not the greatest aquarium in the world and relatively pricey, but not all of us frequently travel to Canada or the USA. For me, the most important thing was that the kids loved it. It was especially nice that,...More

Liked walking through the tunnel and there was plenty to look at. Took some nice photos. Was very crowded which definitely makes it less enjoyable.

But your tickets online before you go!!! Excellent aquarium - large tanks and plenty to see. Your could do a shark dive or cave dive also. At the end are penguins and loads of activities for the children

Last visited here 10 years ago but seems to have lost their wow factor. Some areas looked shabby and was supper crowded with a huge queue outside to get in. They should offer a better fast track service and even family discount on the door...More

Extremely crowded, we could barely see the aquariums, also the price is too high. It was a nice visit anyway.
