Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself.

We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct:

- Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes.

- City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes.

- City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes.

- Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes.

- Taxi to Park Guell (Carretera del Carmel or Calle de Marianao)

Great afternoon experience

The "free" part of the park is worth the stroll around the trails. But buy the tickets to view the best part, the plaza, the gardens, the buidlings.

It was very nice weather and the walk around the park was pleasant. There was a lot of tourists and was hard to take a picture without someone interrupting it. Nice architecture and different styles columns. I didn't like the cafeteria and any of the food wasn't good.

Eat wellin Barcelona then walk it off and enjoy the sites and outdoor musicians. Plenty of beautiful sitting areas to catch a break as well.

Really didn't need the 2 hours to walk round, it's not very big and I didn't think it was very good value for money.

The park has many Guardi features. It is charming but without any architectural merit. Gaudy colours and curves feature in all his buildings. The views from above the hypostyle are fantastic, but that is the same as the view from the Eiffel Tower - it's great because you can view Paris without seeing the tower.

How could you come to Barcelona and not stop by the Park Guell? It's an amazing example of Gaudi's work. So great to imagine what it must have been like to live in this "gated community for rich people". lol The crowds can be overwhelming, so go early.

It is definitely part of the must see sights in Barcelona, but be ready for a lot of walking and hiking if you really want to see and experience the whole park.

Always wanted to visit here. It didn't disappoint. It is a little distance from the hop on- hop off bus stop and does have a steep climb to reach it but well worth it! Incredible views of the city below.

If you want to see the sculptures buy your ticket ahead. You can enter the surrounding park for free, which offers some nice views of the city. If you want tp see the Gaudi work, there are timed entrances and only so many at a time. When we went the wait was an hour and half.
