Gorgeous modernist treasure. You can’t miss it if you like arquitecture. Well worth the admission price and really close from sagrada familia. We saw the light show and was great, very lucky we went on those days.

As others have noted this is a fabulous complex of hospital buildings from the modernist era. If you have bought the Ruta del Modernismo guidebook you can save 50% off either the guided or self guided visit. We enjoyed the guided visit, when it is...More

I visited this hospital completely unplanned. I saw a very unassuming leaflet advertising the site and thought why Not? It is a nice 15 minute stroll north of Sagrada familia. Cost of admission is €13 plus an extra €3 for the audio tour. All the...More

This former hospital is often overlooked by many tourists who visit Barcelona, which in all honesty is great, making it one of the few spaces in town not crowded to the brim. This beautifully design hospital is truly a gem and the perfect example of...More

Truly a lovely campus. The guided tour was very good. The generosity of Mssr Gil gave the architect Montaner free reign to create a hospital that was "beautiful". The mosaics and architecture and beautiful gardens and day rooms were all for the purpose of providing...More

We visit the "hospital" this past October and were thrilled that we did. This place is not in a lot of guidebooks yet, as it just started touring people around in 2009. I was so glad that a friend told me about it. If you...More

This not a working hospital, many of the buildings are not open to visit and it costs something to get in. During our visit we found the negative reviews about the staff to be incorrect. All were friendly and helpful. The buildings were interesting and...More

It's amazing to think that this was built only a hundred years ago, as a hospital - the detal and beauty of the place is phenominal. There are a lot of areas which are still being renovated and/or are inaccessible, but there is so much...More

We had read that this was a hospital up until 2009 but it was awarded UNESCO status and so we really had no idea what to expect. Lluís Domènech i Montaner was the chief architect who started building a village of separate wards in 1902....More

Guided tours are € 16. I think the extra €6 is worth it. In October on a weekday, when we went, I don't think the time of day matters. It's not crowded.
