Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I took a day trip to Segovia during a visit to Madrid this past spring. Our tour guide showed us the Iglesia de la Vera Cruz in the distance when we were at the Alcazar. It was too far to walk to it and we didn’t have time anyway. The most interesting thing about the church is that it was built by the Knights Templar.

We saw this interesting church from the castle. It was far down the road, but looked very interesting. Our guide said we had time to see it, so we went.
Winding roads in a somewhat isolated, quiet area. It is a catholic church with interesting architecture. We enjoyed it.

I noticed this church from the tower of the Cathedral (the first thing I did on a day-trip to Segovia). The architecture intrigued me and a quick search confirmed that it was one of the older churches in Segovia. After visiting the Alcázar, I decided to hike down. It was a steep climb down a few hundred steps and then a walk through a small town once I crossed the river (very narrow sidewalk!). The church provided a lovely view of the Alcázar and the city.
The church charges €2.50 for admission and provides a small handout in Spanish. It's a small church, very architecturally interesting (I've never seen a church built around a central pillar like that (it's modeled after one in Jerusalem). There's nothing here that takes your breath away, but it's a nice and unusual place to visit (especially since I found most of the Romanesque churches of Segovia to be closed).
I took a slightly different route back to Plaza Mayor that was far less steep and very scenic. It was still a major climb, but more enjoyable than climbing the steep steps back up the Castle.

Built in the 12th century by the Knights Templar
Nothing special about the structure or decor but still we paid the 3 euros admissions fee, and went in for quick prayer.
This church is the only attraction that is considered far from the rest of Segovia attractions.
It sit pretty alone down in the valley and can be seen from the Alcazar.
Free parking available in the front yard.

Interesting and very original building. The Vera Cruz Church, formerly known as the Holy Sepulcher, is a Catholic church. It is located north of the city, very close to the Monastery of San Juan de la Cruz. It consists of a nave with a twelve-sided floor that surrounds a small central temple. Its state of conservation is relatively good. It is one of the best-preserved temples of this style in Europe. Small but inspiring.

This simple church is very beautiful and in an extraordinary position. It makes a good walk from the centre of town and back again. A treasure.

Impressive, and different looking church, which can be viewed from the castle, and likewise has impressive view back towards the town.

Romanesque church outside of Segovia. a beautiful example of a circular devotional church offering a beautiful view of the old city of Segovia. Obviously linked to the world of crusades and templars. The interior is absolutely Spartan and primitive. I see traces of frescoes on the walls that embellished the building. It has an exposed crypt on which a small chapel was built. Delicious
