The old and new cathedral are under one roof. and you can see both in the same visit. I do not understand why they make a distinction.

The good: Spain has an abundance of cathedrals in many of its cities and some are less known than others but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth the visit. The “new” cathedral of Salamanca is certainly not to be missed. Especially since the entry fee...More

If you do not believe in God, you will want to after visiting this cathedral. It is astounding. There is much to see inside. Give it at least two hours, if you can. There are audio tours that came highly recommend but, to our regret,...More

The outside of the church is very impressive and has been extensively renovated in recent years. Inside is stunning with its soaring high ceilings, carved choir area and two magnificent organs, I like the way the Spanish pipes fan out like eyelashes instead of the...More

We were amazed by the size of this cathedral. We actually thought that we were in the old cathedral until we went through the door to the old one. This is still old and very well maintained. A must see.

The cathedral itself is not as great as other gothic cathedrals in Spain but the complete set of an "old" and "new" cathedral as well as the Hyeronimus exhibition is awesome and you won't find anything similar in the world (as far as I know)....More

The New Cathedral in Salamanca is an impressive piece of architecture from the 16th Century. It sits beside the Old Cathedral, which was constructed a few hundred years prior. The cathedral is very large and you can take a walking tour of both the old...More
