As you browse the magnificent cathedral, make sure you don't miss this; it's a bit hard to find in one of the side areas. It's incredibly ornate and a testament to amazing craftsmanship.

This room in the cathedral is a good example of what could be missed if you weren’t using a guide. We are firm believers of benefiting from all the reasons to tour cathedrals with a local guide. The Custodia de Arle is a contrast from...More

The level of detail and the amount of gold an jewels are impressive. Not sure why this is listed separately to the cathedral though, since it is part thereof and one cannot see it without a general admission to the cathedral. That said, the cathedral...More

This monstrance is huge and extremely valuable and ornate. It is mostly gold with some silver and is about twice as tall as a person. You do have to seek it out but it is worth the effort to do so.

The craftsmanship of this piece is unbelievable. Hard to believe that they allow it to be carried through the streets once a year. It is located in it's own room in a corner of the Catedral. Do not miss it.

This gold & precious gem monstrance is paraded around Toledo streets every year during Semana Santa. Tradition says it was made from the first gold brought from the Americas to Spain. It I just unbelievable to see in person. It's in the Santa Maria Cathedral,...More

This is within the cathedral, you need to pay to visit, you cant just see this separately. Apparently built between 1517-1524! I had no idea it was so old. Its got 18kg of gold and 183kg silver in it, along with hundreds of gems. The...More
