Having bought marzipan and yemas from a few places in Toledo I still reckon these nuns do the best especially the yemas which are rich, light and fluffy. Yemas (pronounced Jemas) is basically marzipan enriched with egg yolk. They are also a little cheaper here....More

Star anise cookies dipped in chocolate and marzipan are tasty. A quiet shop tucked in the Jewish quarter of the historical town of Toledo. Don't miss it when you are there!

We visited solely to try out the marzipan. You can purchase local marzipan made by the nuns at the shop here. There are many places to enjoy marzipan but it's nice to support the local nuns as well.
