All reviews military history spanish history huge museum military items army museum two hours amazing collection highest point audio guide royal palace roman ruins excellent museum museum is free surrounding countryside couple of hours weapons uniform
When I went I was not aware it's a Spanish military museum, if I had known I would have skipped it. All of the exhibits pertain to the Spanish army throughout its history: weapons, uniforms and battles. It is best enjoyed by those with a...More
It is a newer museum, that compare to all the other attractions in Toledo, not among my favorite, specially if you are just going for a day. Maybe with time, it will get to be very important. My husband loved it. To me, I would...More
Touring this museum will give a good lesson in Spanish military history. All from the times of the Romans, to the conquest of the new world, to the Peninsular War, the Spanish civil war then onward to the war in Afghanistan. Highly recommend it for...More
The museum was of moderate interest though not well organized. We particularly sought more on the Spanish Civil War, but couldn't find much. I think the Spanish are embarrassed about Generalissiom Franco so prefer not to feature him, though he did win a bloody civil...More
The GF and I had previously come to Toledo but had missed the museum last time having walked around it. Sunday entrance (closed Mondays) was free and well worth it. Signage in museum was translated and very interesting
The Alcazar sits at the top of Toledo. There is an entrance close to all the tour buses where elscalators will wisk you up to the top. This is the best way to tour the city as all you need to do then is to...More
Terrific museum. I'm not sure why it is rated this low. We spend about 4-5 hours in the museum and could have spent the entire day. Along the way you can go outside on the terraces and enjoy the garden and the fabulous views.
Huge military museum, full of military stuff,
Plenty of toilet facilities, clear exhibits in English, worth getting
A audio if you want more information, they x-ray your bags but
Lockers available if you have forbidden things in your bag, coin return for locker entry
Interior not what you’d expect, it’s a vast space with not much inside, and lots of rooms closed off but worth the entry fee and free for kids under 15. It’s quite interesting if you’re into militaria but teenagers found it a bit boring.
