if you're in Santa Cruz for Carnaval, stay away from Meson Brasil outside the tourist information center near Plaza Espana. it's a tourist trap food vendor that's a total rip off. they don't advertise their prices, so shame on me for not asking first, but...More

Very ordinary , lacking in bars and restaurants and not really a plaza at all . Certainly not worth going out of the way for.

The selfie sign of Santa Cruz is here as well. Nice bars around to have a drink and people watch. It was clean and we felt safe and secure. Place to walk about and enjoy the sunshine.

The Plaza de Espana in Santa Cruz is down by the harbour, is spacious - with a beach for paddling - and is a bit windy! There are various bars along the front but the most interesting is the vertically planted garden - very attractive.

This is a big central square with large fountain. Also nice cafés and tourist information office. But the square is not in perfect condition. There are some renovation works nearby.

Good place with nice restaurants around. The lake in the square is pretending to be as a beach and the water is really clear and blue. Nice place to chill out a bit!

Walking around Santa Cruz can be difficult. Very hilly in places and no real directions as what is where. We found a quaint market and a lovely church but unlike most places there does not seem to be a central shopping area.
