We found it by accident really but were very excited to go in one evening after our dinner. It is small indeed and has got only a few items but we enjoyed this short visit. It had this atmosphere of old times & tragic events...More

This small museum was right next to where we were staying so we popped in to have a look. It is based on the original inhabitants of the Canaries Islands the Guanches and consists of several rooms showing different aspects of their lives i.e. how...More

Most of the museum was closed when we visited (and it is now completely closed until the end of August 2018, with the refurbishment complete by, hopefully, the end of the year I think), but the small exhibition on the ground floor that was open...More

Probably the smallest museum I have ever visited. A single room showing some of the ancient archeology of Tenerife. It is approx 7 metres by 5 metres and has a single sheet in English. Interesting but by no means absorbing. There is so much more...More

Well organized, and centrally located, it is worthwhile having a look to this museaum that clearly shows and explains the roots of this population

There was no entry charge as there are refurbishment works taking place. Only the ground floor area was open and of that several rooms/areas were closed off. Would consider revisiting when the works are completed. The toilets are nice!

Only two rooms open, but very interesting exhibition about the original inhabitants of Tenerife. Check opening days and times though!

Although the exhibition is on three floors, due to renovation works, only about a third of the exhibition was available to see on the ground level, & was therefore free.

Very neat museum concentrating on very early 'guanche' (locals) life. The importance of mastering CLAY and FIRE is demonstrated in the exhibits. It enabled the inhabitants to move on from sea food and shell fish. The English information sheet provided is not that food. All...More

It took us 15 minutes to read the card the museum had in English and to view the exhibits. If you walk by and it is open you might spend the 2 Euro a person but it really is not worth a special trip.

Tried several times but kept arriving during siesta time. Paid to get in, greeted by several small rooms each displaying the the development of human civilsation on Tenerife. Quite interesting but not great. I understand that the museum undertakes a lot of work involving schools...More

We went on Sunday based on advice from the really helpful tourist information. Can't complain about the price as it was free and not too far to walk. Takes an interest in ancient history to enjoy, but for those who do items interesting - particularly...More
