We stopped off for a visit on the way to Santa Cruz and were so pleased we did. The history of the town is all around, even having well known shops with historic facades. The streets are easy to walk through, with beautiful buildings and...More

I would rate this experience 'excellent' except for the fact that we had a guide who spoke poor English and couldn't explain most of what we saw which took away from the overall experience. I took many pictures and also of plaques and looked things...More

Get a map to help guide you around this area. There will be entry fees to churches and museums. Lots of little cafes and shops there too.

The historic city centre of La Laguna is very different than much of the rest of Tenerife, with a feeling of history but with a buzz. There is a lively street scene with cafes and buskers (some very good) yet still very Spanish. The mix...More

La Laguna is so lovely, and the historic district is beautiful! The houses/churches were first built in the 16th century, and many have been lovingly restored. Keep in mind that La Laguna district is much chillier than Santa Cruz or the south of Tenerife, so...More

We found the North much less touristy than the South and also much prettier. San Cristobal is a very pretty little town close to Santa Cruz, lots of nice buildings, few churches and a University. Definitely worth a visit and a walk around.

Just walking around this town one can feel the sense of history in its old buildings. While there are commercial outlets, they are kept low key in order that they do’t pollute the history. Car parking is available but mostly on the outside of the...More

A UNESCO world heritage site because it was the first of the colonial capitals laid out in the Spanish world empire, and became a model. Very clean and lovely and well-restored. Enjoy strolling.

Our cruise ship stop was on a Sunday and we took a shore excursion. We saw other tours from different operators at some of our stops.
