Have been before a few times and have settled on using buses which this year was problematical. We travelled from Los Cristianos via Adeje and Santiago de Teidi. Late buses and an a large crowd for the return trip from the valley meant no room on the smaller mini bus but we eventually escaped. No taxis available. I suspect this was a post covid one off problem. If you want hassle free then take a booked trip or hire a taxi at a price. The Valley itself is well worth the trip. Stunning views and plenty of walks. The area is very scenic.

Little village with beautiful scenery. There are a few shops with souvenirs. I think that there is a hiking trail for the able tourists. However, be prepared for the craziest ride of your life - the road from the south is winding and very narrow.

Not the usual ‘tourist’ Tenerife. Masca is a must if you have a car to use in Tenerife. It’s nothing like the rest of the island, it’s lush Green trees combined with a volcanic approach with the best views on the island. A challenging drive for a confident driver but one that’s worth the effort. This is the side of Tenerife most people never see which is such a shame. We’ll worth the effort! 😎

Gorgeous views, but driving there is extremely challenging - the road is not only winding, but also narrow and steep at the same time in several points. Also, check the wind and the cloud situation in advance - you might find yourself in the middle of a foggy soup easily, even if it is sunny at the coast.

A thrill to drive and stuning to see. Majestic moutain slopes towards the see. Knowing it s nature made by the vulcano Teide makes it even more spectacular. There must be a warning for pickpockets along the route! Watch out for they are dangerous.

Stunning scenery and a little bit of a scary drive, but definitely worth it once you get there you can relax with a drink or get something to eat. Make sure you take a lot of pictures on the way in and out so people can get an idea of the ride.

Stunning unique views during your drive there. Driving there can be somewhat exciting as it concerns not to side roads and steep climbs around poorly visible corners. It's an asphalt road, so driving shouldn't be a problem for an experienced driver. Parking spots are quite limited so do expect trouble parking or continue driving to a place closeby. Do stop at the viewing points on either the way there or back, since those views are quite unique.

Having experienced the Stelvio Pass in Italy, the Grimsel Pass in Switzerland and various mountain roads in Thailand I have to report that this road is the most spectacular I have ever been on. I first visited the valley in the mid 80s and you had to leave by the same road down or continue up the valley by donkey. I was shocked to hear a road had been constructed to join it to the road to Teide.
The village of Masca itself is charming and has a number of Bohemian shops and cafes. The ‘plaza major’ is not very major at all but has an impressive ficus tree and a tiny church.

Our trip to Masca Valley was awesome! Highly recommended! From all places we visited for me was the highlight!

Of course as many people mentioned the road is narrow and bit difficult, but me personally I am beginner in driving and I had no problem. Maybe it was also because we went there not in that “rush” hour and this is what I recommended!! Also all you need to do is drive slow and careful :) We went there around 5:30-6 PM and we catch the valley in day light and on our way back around 6:30-7 PM we catch beautiful sunset! We have awesome pictures and memories. Loved it!! Also many local people recommended go in this hour. was worth it ! They saiuis also very good stay after sunset to stay and watch the stars:) unlike we didn’t catch good weather. So hope someone of you will do :) Enjoy
